DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Miami Valley is under a Tornado Watch until late Saturday morning.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service out of Wilmington, Ohio, issued a Tornado Watch for the following counties until 10 a.m.:
- Auglaize
- Butler
- Darke
- Hamilton
- Mercer
- Miami
- Montgomery
- Preble
- Shelby
- Warren
The weather service defines a Tornado Watch as a time when twisters are possible in your area. It advises people to prepare for a potential Tornado Warning:
- Reacquaint yourself with your emergency plan
- Take inventory of your supplies
- Check your safe room.
- Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching.
